Sesame Bread

3 tbsp. sesame seeds
2 c. whole wheat flour
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. unprocessed bran
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. buttermilk or whole milk
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 egg, beaten

Turn sesame seeds into small skillet. Stir over medium-high heat 2 to 3 minutes or until lightly toasted. Set aside. Combine all remaining ingredients and 2 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds in mixing bowl. Stir until blended. Turn into greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 inch loaf pan. Sprinkle remaining seeds over top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until pick inserted comes out dry. Cool 10 minutes in pan. Invert and cool on wire rack. .
